The Cleansing of the Felucca Shrines

It was not a day like any other, Videric Gaveston knew it in his bones. There had been a rumour that this Wednesday would be a special day for Britannia, and Videric trusted this rumour. He was not certain where the rumour had originated, but he was ready to take the action needed as it was rumoured that the court mage Nystul would speak to the people today.

Videric was at Cove on the Trammel side when a messenger reached him with a word that the Nystul's speech was to begin soon, at Britain. However this speech was to be held in old Britannia, on Felucca side where the war was still everyday life. Videric took a few moments to prepare his horse and he headed towards the Moongate North of Vesper.

After a long journey Videric finally arrived at Britain on Felucca side and reached the Chamber of Virtue, which was located in the middle of the town. Nystul was already there, guarded by Sir Dupre and Geoffrey from Lord British' court. The chamber had already a fair amount of people inside, but Videric managed to get himself close enough to greet Sir Dupre.

"Hail milord, 'tis an honour to meet thou again. I followed thou at the siege of Trinsic and I shall trust thou now as well," said Videric and bowed slightly to show respect. He felt special honour in meeting Sir Dupre as he had been his personal hero ever since his valiant act during the Trinsic days.

Sir Dupre thanked Videric and advised him to listen what Nystul would have to say, as the old sage had begun his speech:

"...The final object I need is the Bell of Courage. The bell that was found in Serpent's Hold has been damaged by Minax. To repair the bell, I need a golden Wyrm's scale, and the ancient Wyrm Nelajer is the only one that possesses such a scale.

I need several warriors to help Lord Geoffrey and Lord Dupre. Together you will find the Ancient Wyrm and slay it!

The Ancient Wyrm Nelajer can be found beneath the Liche's throne room Beneath the Liche's throne room in Covetous.

Bring the golden scale to the Shrine of Spirituality, as it is the only way to clean the Shrine."

Soon would be the time to go, and Videric prepared his trusted kryss for battle, as during the speech he had decided to aid Britannia in such a grand cause, besides little adventure would not hurt... hopefully.

Friends would be important during the journey to the depths of Covetous and luckily Videric had spied a few with his eyes. Old sage Matthius was at the chamber, so was Elv'eng the only elf he trusted and as well there was Pad O'Lion leader of Spiritwood. Videric also noted the foul mouthed Killian the former militia man and now some sort of hired sword. However Videric had no time to get stuck to argue about who was really the best kryss fighter, so he did not greet him.

Videric turned once again to Sir Dupre to show his respect: "I believe thou will lead us to Victory, milord"

Dupre nodded and replied: "We shall claim our victory together my friend. I am indeed honoured by thy trust."

Videric would have probably talked more, if Nystul had not cast a spell to open a moongate to the entrance of Covetous. It was time for heroism! With the lead of Sir Dupre and Geoffrey the large group stepped inside.

The journey to the very bottom of Covetous was long and dangerous. Especially the gazers who no doubt were send by Minax presented great danger many times during the journey, as they had Videric trapped few times. To his luck, Pad O'Lion was on his guard and was able to cast healing spells when needed.

When Videric arrived to the bottom of the Dungeon with Geoffrey's and Dupre's group, the wyrm was already slain by the forces who had journeyed ahead. However the price had been terrible, many people were lost.

Sir Dupre kneeled at the body of the wyrm and took the needed scales with his sword. And soonafter was moongate to Shrine of Spirituality opened.

At the Shrine Minax's forces had their final try to prevent the cleaning as some undead and Lord of Abyss were summoned to the shrine, however the crowd did dispatch these creatures quite painlessly. And now it was time for Nystul to cast his spell.

Nystul began his summoning and the dark construction over the shrine began to collapse. The whole shrine shook and the sinister vortex at the middle began to shrink. Soon the people could see the shrine in it's purity once again, and if there was any truth to the reports Videric heard after the cleaning, the shrines all around Felucca were clean now as well. Truely the Virtues were Victorious today.

Tired Sir Dupre leaves and returns to Britain
