Tara woke up feeling bright and happy. So much had happened to her
in the last few weeks, and though she could not remember any of her ordeal
she felt stronger than ever and invigorated with a new found strength.
She kicked aside her goose feather duvet and felt the brisk morning air
flow over her skin. She quickly grabbed her clothes off a nearby chair and
flung them on. Not so long ago, her days had not started off so casually....
The villagers in Deepwater had found her outside the tavern with a
weird looking man who spoke with an eerie voice. Somehow he had taken
control of Tara, it had seemed at the time. Some of the villagers had
spoken to Tara then and she had fallen unconcious with a thump to
the ground. An elf had been summoned to try and heal her, and he had
done his best to return her to normal. Muffins had also played a role
in this, it seemed the young Tara's greed for warm muffins had overcome
the power that controlled her.
Tara was happilly at home for about a week after that initial event, when
again the weird looking man came to town. The man seemed to exercise some
form of control over her. Tara became crazed and in the end she was
knocked out by Burrator as she had tried to kill him when he got in her way
after she refused to listen to him. After restraining the young lass in the
back room of the Owl's Eye and also finding another unconcious man, some drunk
carpenter, help requests were sent out. Michael the Monk responded to these
calls for help. After talking to Tara for some time, once again the control
over her subsided and she returned to her normal self, this process was once
again speeded up with the judicious use of muffins. The drunkard had similarly
regained conciousness to a degree with the aid of some alcohol.
The weird looking man had been seen a few times since those encounters, and
some say he is a forest Hermit. No one knows for sure if he had something
to do with Tara's disappearance. Tara is suspicious of him and a little
frightened since she thinks he is following her around from time to time,
but there is no evidence of any wrong doing on his part. His behaviour
seems a little strange, but no stranger than that of any other Hermit.
Alexandra was of course overjoyed to have his little sister back at
home. She would no doubt moan about his singing, and leave the house
looking like a frenzied Wyvern's nest, but none of that mattered to
him now that she was back at home. He felt that there was something
a little different about her, when he had last seen her before her
disappearance she had still been a little girl in his mind. Now she
seemed somehow different. She was still careless and go-happy, but
there was definitely something different...
