Dardan Brook

There was busy people in front of the tavern, as usual. Dardan greeted them accordingly and were met by the angered looks of a haunted people. There had been another attack. He knew that it had come to it and was prepared for it. He saw the children whimpering in a corner of the tavern. He saw the face of Fauna looking like ash while trying to remain calm.

"Another fight..."
Dardan mumbled to himself and cursed under his breath. He walked into the little room that made the tavern and waited for it to become empty for a little while. It was easy for him to make himself invisible to the eye. He took greater care trying to shield his mind from the scholars and mages that could sense his presence without him being visible. Then he sat down in an out of the way place and looked. He spent the evening, sitting in the tavern, looking at the people trying to calm themselves down.

The villagers of Deepwater were prepared for this. They knew when it came and knew how to brush the strong feelings aside. It took some time but finally they had calmed down and the children dared once more to walk out into the streets and play their games. The adults had a harder time forgetting. When the dusk came, Dardan stood up and walked out of the tavern as if he had been there for all to talk to all along. Even Elv'eng looked slightly startled when he waved his farewell before opening the door to the tavern and stepping out.

When he came home he sat down outside his little cabin and scratched his little beard pondering the different alternatives.

"There is a possible way..."
He shook his head and looked down. The prize was high. He stood up and stretched and then he walked to the waterline and washed his face with the cool water. His head cleared immediately and the thoughts appeared without the blurring of tiredness.

"If 't might work then I shall try it. 'T might be a solution to make a sanctuary within Deepwater."
He looked out over the sea.

"No matter the cost..."
