The Warrior's Way
by
Ian Woolfenden

The Warriors Way A child is Born, His mother a tailor in the shoemakers, he lived near yew. His name, Itheas he grew up his mother teaching him the way of the tailorand the ancient art of crafting with leather This was not enough and seemed to lead hin nowhere in the lonely life he led. His father now dead he had been slain by the evil lord Mithril. The child sought no revenge as his father was not a good man as him mother had made him out to be. But he had been currupted by the powers that be and all the other evils that sought people out throughout all of Sosaria. Temptation, Greed, Anger, once a man is captured by these evil he shall soon return from whence he came like the evil Mondain. Itheas thought about these things and it saddened him deeply he knew that it was his fathers fualt and only his alone but still a fire burned deep within him. He reached the grand age of 10, Itheas wanted a practice foil merely to fence with his friends and enjoy some of the pleasures and enjoyment that a weapon can bring. His mother granted him this one wish and beleived that her teachings were good enough for her son not to go beyond purely playing with a practice foil. Although Itheas enjoyed the fencing it still did not fullfill him in his life. He Reached 14 one of the Harder parts of a childs now ended. But his fear and anger were still there. That year his mother died He felt deeply saddened and like life was no longer living the plague of brittania had been eating away at her for years, but Itheas never thought the day would come when she would finally die.He lived alone for a shortime he Moved in with his girlfriend and started to learn the greater arts like swordsmanship, tactics, and Parrying. He got married in the lyceam not a church but the minister agreed to perform the wedding there as it was where him and his mother used to go. Itheas now 17 was a man, and as the minister spoke the words you may now kiss the bride suddenly a glimmer of happiness re-entered his life. But he still Trained in Warfare.

He began to learn alchemy and made healing potions for warriors to drink after hard battles and regain some strength. He was now a Master of 4 skills , Swordsmanship,Parrying,Tactics and Alchemy. His wife beleived in her husband greatly he now made greater heal potions and many warriors beleive he was the main person that decemated the undead threat through his healing potions. He was Greatly admired by many adventurers but still Itheas did not feel he had achieved anything he was now becoming older almost 25 now and beleived he would not have many good years left in his life. But then in a feild nearby he found a plant the warriors of Lord British called this Nightshade and it was beleived that poison could be made from this somewhat mythical plant. He created many potions of poison and stored them in a hidding crate within his workshop. He wanted to test these potions so poured a smaller toned down version into his dogs feeding bowl his dog fell very ill and could only be cured by the experienced mage Bazerion if i supplied him some ginseng. Ginseng were these small difficult to catch frog like creatures which were easy to catch and had no intelligence so he did not feel guilty about giving them to Bazerion the wizard who he knew would kill them.

He Started a project collecting ingots now the undead war was over. He started to craft himself a halberd slowly cafting the pole then the blade at the top so it would kill almost every animal in 1 swift blow when he went hunting. He then ceated some armour which he made from these mall peices of blue metal he sometimes got when he was mining for iron. He crafted lots of rings out of this metal. Then he linked all of the rings together to make a tunic, some leggings, sleeves and gloves. He saw that the rings were not suitable for a gorget or a helm as the metal was not very strong againt hits from above or weak enough so that he could manaever his neck easily. He made his helmet from some iron and his wife made his gorget from some leather. He was now A BRITTANIAN WARRIOR. His wife saw this and became disheartened. He began fencins as he did when he was a child once more and trained with his halberd.

He Joined Lord Britishes army and went hunting withsome people he had once sold the healing potions to. They went to a mysterios dungeon to fight a dragon which they had been told lived there and steal the gold and magic weapons it is rumoured they kept in thier lair. His best friend Tyberius began cunjuring up a spell. The dragon, Ursa saw and with a swipe of her tail. sliced him through the neck. He lay there staring up at Itheas motionless the other warriors chuckled. Itheas looks down and pours a magical potion into his mouth, nothing happens. He poured another still nothing no movement, nothing. He murmered a prayer and took the identity necklace his Friend Tyberius once wore proudly. The warriors all ran up to the dragon hitting it, Ursa the dragon cried in pain. Slashing back at them to try and survive. The other warriors lay there in pain. There was one boy couldnt be much older than 18 crying for his mother. Itheas walked over to the child and looked at his wounds. There was o way he could recover he laid there in extreme pain,so Itheas gave him one of his potion bottles telling him it would heal him, he quickly drifted to sleep and died dreaming of his loving family. Itheas Then Turned towards the Dragon and struck down with almighty force it was there moaning on the floor the poison had set in instantly. The dragon lay on the floor, he raises his halberd to make the final blow. He realises he had become everything his father was, he had given in to all of the evils, temptation, greed, and anger. He took another look at the dragon. And finished it off. He looks down at the floor tears fill his eyes, he looks in the dragons chest nothing in there

He walks to the cave at the back of the dragons lair there, there was 4 baby dragons not any bigger than 6 inches high. She had not been protecting her treasure but rather her newborn childen. Itheas sees he has 1 potion left and he drinks it and embraces his slow death. He looks at the small painting he keeps of his wife and newborn child. He Sqeezes it hard in his fist and passes away against the side wall of the dragons lair.

His Child now 6 wonders where his father is his mother a tailor. She tells him he was Slain by the evil Lord Mithril. His mother teaches him in the ancient art of crafting with leather but there is still something missing, and a fire burns within him.
