 | Ultima Online : Lord Blackthorn's Revenge -Videric | |
This is a little late, as I have been rather busy:
Greetings!
As you are no doubt aware, Ultima Online : Lord Blackthorn's Revenge is almost upon us in Europe!
To celebrate the release of the latest incarnation of the world of Britannia the online EA stores in the UK, Germany and Sweden are offering a special limited offer to anyone ordering the game from them. Each of the onlinestores are giving away a free Lord Blackthorn action figure (image enclosed) to the first 300 people to order the game per store.
This special deal ensures that you too can own a piece of UO history -just get on over to the online stores of EA UK, Sweden or Germany...
(Please note - the stores will only deliver to the countries that they serve.)

Regards,

Basicly the figure is the same plastic metal-painted figure that the Americans got as standard with every packet. There is no information will the comic be released with the European version, although I presume so as it fits to a DVD case. |

Stratics had a pelasure to interview Ignatz. A very positive interview, especially quite open about Seer and volunteers (no they are not coming back).

 | ...and they say tamers don't need nerfing -Melissa | |
Some days I just don't get people who say tamers aren't currently overpowered in UO. This UO.com boards post is yet another piece of evidence proving that the changes in Publish 16 are more than welcome:Well i felt like getting Lord with my newbi tamer(60 lore and 60 taming) and my wyrm last week and counted how many elder gazers it took...it took around 241 give or take a few I'd really like to see a warrior with 60 Swords/Tactics or a mage with 60 Magery/Eval go against elder gazers, yet alone killing over 200 of them.
And unlike yesterday's UO and AO merging news, this isn't an April Fools' Joke. :) |

 | Ultima Online planned to merge with Anarchy Online! -Melissa | |
Following the immensely successful launch of UO: Lord Blackthorn's Revenge, Norwegian software company Funcom, the developer and publisher of highly popular sci-fi MMORPG Anarchy Online and EA/Origin have announced a joint effort to combine the worlds of Ultima Online and Anarchy Online.
Sharp-eyed players might have already noticed the obvious similarities between some of the new UO:LBR (especially the Juggernaut and other cyborg monstrosities) and AO models. And indeed, these were added as sort of a test to see how the UO players would react to technological additions to the fantasy world of Britannia. According to our inside source at Origin (who wishes to remain anonymous at this time), despite the fact that some prominent members of the UO player community have protested to the "hi-tech" theme, most of the feedback has been extremely positive.
"The existing accounts of both UO and AO players won't require any special changes but will in fact be fully compatible with the new game world. The details of the merging haven't been completely planned yet, but at the moment the most likely solution will be to add new map files to both games, so that UO players will be able to enter Rubi-Ka with their client and vice versa. The required patches will probably be downloadable for people with broadband connections, but there will also be an expansion pack that will be available at retail stores. Just imagine the possibilities of this project! Ever wanted to blast orcs with a laser rifle or show those filthy Clan Rebels how a Flamestrike whoops just about anyone? Soon you can!", says our anonymous Origin representative.
