    Housing, Phase 2 schedule -Videric

    From FYI again:

Phase 1 of Publish 16’s new housing ownership & decay system is finally complete! We’ll soon be entering Phase 2, which will begin on Monday, August 5th, and will continue through until Monday, September 2nd.

At the center of the Phase 2 stage will be the possibility for some of you co-owners or friends to take possession of “ownerless houses” (those houses owned by an inactive account) — although if you already own a house on any shard, you will not be eligible to claim an ownerless house. Also occurring within Phase 2 will be the ability for full-owners to be able to set their homes as “Primary Houses” (don’t forget: setting a house as a Primary House will condemn all your other houses on all other shards!), which will allow houses to auto-refresh for as long as that owning account remains active.

We recommend that everyone take at least a few minutes to refresh themselves on the “House Ownership and Decay Changes” and “House Co-owners & Friends FAQ” information before we enter Phase 2.

Note: The automatic refreshing of houses will continue throughout Phase 2. Auto-refreshing of houses will cease at the start of Phase 3, except, of course, for those buildings set to be Primary Houses. Although Phase 3 will begin soon after Phase 2 ends, it will not necessarily begin immediately after Phase 2 ends — we’ll keep everyone up to date on when Phase 3 begins as well.

  • A Royal Pardon for All! -Videric

Although I do not post all of FYI stuff, as people probably search more fiction related stuff here. However I try to post those most important. As this one has little fiction in it too, there is more reason to post.

“Hear ye! Hear ye! The honorable high court of Britannia does hereby decree that, in light of the recent waves of monstrous entities and their champions rampaging throughout the lands, that all current outstanding murder warrants shall be dismissed, and all persons shall once again have equal opportunity to bear arms against the Evil that threatens our civilization.”

As the age of the Harrower dawned, we found that he was evil - far more evil than we’d ever imagined. This evil ripped into the very framework of Britannia, causing fear, confusion, dissent – and at times, extra murder counts for players who lost their loves in the dungeons and Lost Lands.

To fix this wrong, we debated on the best course of action – whether to revert, or to level the playing field by giving all characters a one-time-only reprieve of all murder counts. The decision was made to issue a reprieve, and it was done. This reprieve is granted to each character as they enter Britannia—as each character logs into UO, all of that characters short- and long-term murder counts will set to zero. This reprieve will only happen once per character.

Once this decree was made, we concluded it was best to not make a formal announcement until the reprieve was activated on all shards, for fear of unscrupulous people taking this opportunity to enter killing frenzies on multiple shards, anticipating that at the end of the day their murders would essentially have zero repercussions.

We apologize for any inconveniences suffered in the development of any character, and hope that this reprieve helps bring everyone’s characters back on track.

About Mushroom men and monsters -Videric

    From Gromm:

That's more or less it. There are no Mushroom Men in game and we currently have no plans to add them.

There are no fungus among us! :)

Also, yes, the current plan is to have all the LBR monsters in by the time the AoS expansion is out, so you're not going to get shorted any beasties.

You will be missed by all of us, Talos. Thank you for all the great work you did to EU & DF community, without forgetting your great input to the interest volunteer quests (seer & elder time). If you read this Talos, please email me at traveller@rper.org.

New expansion has nothing to do with full-3D -Videric

    At least according to Tajima:

      >>What about the 3D rumors? Does the Unreal Engine have anything to do with this next expansion?<<

      No.

    New character portrait service -Videric

As always, when I receive a good link, I think it is only fair to share it. Daniel Chou approached me with a link to his character portrait site. Take a look at his gallery while you visit the site, you wont be let down.

The portraits cost US dollars to commission (much like Carde), not in-game gold.

A link been added to links section, but here is a direct link:
