 | Ultima Online Rewards Program in next patch? -Videric | |
The testing for next update has been updated with Ultima Online Rewards Program document. Does this mean reward program is at door?
There has not been much changes to reward program since I last looked at it, although 3 year veteran rewards have been added. So what does this mean?
-All the statue collectors will be very happy. More silly statues. (Why aren't the REAL small statues that they have art for used? Go and look at Minoc Town hall.)
-We are going to get metal coloured cloaks and robes? I have no idea what they will look like, but I am a bit doubtful how metal colour looks on clothes... Of course they are magical so that would be the reason why they exist in story. However those will unfortunately not fit to everyone's style. Why not let to dye one item of choise to these colours instead? (maybe not allow to dye weapons)
-Ghost Horses. Transparent horses to 3 year veterans. Those will probably look very nice on magicians and Undead, however those who do ont roleplay magician might have difficulty to fit this very useful horse to their character. (I would like a horse you do not have to feed or stable, but would it fit to my character? That is something to think... specially as you only get one horse and you cannot give it away as I understand.)
In overal, there are some nice additions, but not very imagitive except the ethreal horse. Specially I would have hoped some freedom in which item you wish to dye, for different people do use different kinds of clothing.
There was no new items such as flower pots to handed out. But maybe it gives hope that more "NEW" art will be introduced in the future, specially some new furtinute would come in need. So maybe you do not have to be millionar or 3 year veteran to own a wall lantern, rug, carpet or bookcases with books on them?
Anyway, something new is always refreshing. Judge yourself if you like the rewards, maybe it is not too late to send some feedback as well, if you have something to say.
For instance e-mail to Melantus@uo.com might be a good idea. However, remember to state your ideas clearly and politely. Flaming that your favorite idea is not in will get you nowhere.

 | The Second Age add-on pets to Britannia? -Videric | |
I picked this up from official UO boards. There was question about making it possible to recall and gate directly to New Lands and also if people would be able to bring their pets from the new lands to Britannia. Here is the reply:
Yes we have plans for this but I'm not sure when they will go into effect. Once I know more, I will let you know.

 | Useful updates at Ultima Online Europa -Videric | |
The Ultima Online Europa site has been updated with a name generator, which seems to have quite nice first names, although not everyone probably wants to have the titles suggested there as well.
Also you can tell your future from Tarot cards and Horoscopes.
Have a look at the site please: http://www.uo-europe.com/culture/culture.html |

Currently involved in the Crown Of Thorns scenario, we remain independant and are trying to become involved in other towns and villages.
Our town is growing but currently has 8 to 10 buildings including, Shop, Tavern, Museum, Library, workshop and homes.
We are easily located north of vesper, and our site is www.beddingbox.com/ms
This has further details of us and a map to find us.
Farewell for now. *waves*

 | About Richard Garriot, ETCS, Electric Art's Glass palace and GameWorld 2000. -Videric | |
Have you been wondering what Lord British aka Richard Garriot has been up to lately? According to Pelit -magazine Mr Garriot has got married and is currently enjoying with his wife the millions he has made in his long career. Apparently he is unfortunately not currently involved in computer industry at all. Hopefully Ultima 9 will not be this man's last game, hopefully this is just silence before the new coming.
On other news Electric Arts, like many other big companies, did not take part of ETCS. Instead it held it's own showing at the new EA glass-palace about 10 km away from the heart of London. Apparently the same person who designed Euro parliament building was also involved in designing the EA building, meaning it wasn't probably very cheap building to build. However the showing did not have anything about Ultima Online's future (at least I failed to see any reports, and no I was not there personally). So I guess the Ultima Online Faire will tell if there is any truth about this 3D engine they have been rumoured to do for Ultima Online. I suppose graphics could do a little spice up I guess, but not in cost of details.
I wonder if Electric Arts has anyone at the GameWorld 2000 happening in Finland at the of November. As I see it, Online Market is growing rapidly in Europa, Nordic countries included.

| The Tales of a Traveller had recently an honour to interview Pad O'Lion and ask about his past and view. Pad O'Lion is the leader of Custodes Fati and one of the founders of most successful town of Spiritwood. |
The Tales of a Traveller is also looking for more links about role-playing. So if you notice that our link page is missing a good link, let us know!

A new "veteran" dungeon will be added to UO in the near future. The dungeon Khaldun will be located in the Lost Lands on the Felucca facet only. It's currently in testing on both Test Center and Test Factions, and here's what OSI had to say on uo.com:
Introducing Dungeon Khaldun Deep below the Lost Lands waits the Dungeon Khaldun, a cursed catacomb and deadly home to legions of the most vile and vicious monsters to menace Britannia. Death awaits. Will you approach? Or will you flee in terror?
Dungeon Khaldun is the newest, unique addition to Ultima Online and will be available to all players using Second Age or Renaissance versions of UO without any additional downloads or patching. The dungeon will be appearing on the Felucca facet of all UO shards in the near future, and will be opening on two test shards (Test Center and Test Factions) today. Information on the dungeon addition is available in General Testing.
We hope you'll take the opportunity to visit one of the Test shards and explore this latest expansion to Britannia!
Dungeon Khaldun The Dungeon Khaldun will be located in the Lost Lands (T2A) on the Felucca facet. The dungeon has two entrances which are both located to the far east of Delucia. The sextant coordinates for the entrances are:
- 58o 16’S, 5o 7’E
- 62o 8’S, 3o 47’W
Khaldun is designed to be a dungeon for veteran players and as such, it is meant to be very difficult. Rather than publishing a full document that gives away all of the dungeon's secrets (thus spoiling its many surprises), this document will give you some basic information on what to look for. A full document will be posted when the dungeon is published to the live shards.
When testing this new dungeon, keep the following things in mind:
- There are new monsters in this dungeon. Many of them will act differently than existing monsters.
- The dungeon has some secret passages and rooms. Finding them will not be easy.
- Some spells and aspects of skills will not work in this dungeon. These include:
- The Mark spell.
- The Resurrection spell.
- The Healing skill when attempting to resurrect (healing and curing will work however).
- Killing another player will sometimes bring unexpected repercussions upon the murderer.

Spiritwood Town Council
Attention: It has come to my attention that this council has not been founded in understanding with the current rulership. I did not know this at the time of posting, apologies if the topic was misleading. |
